General weather Overview
The climate in Cambodia is tropical. Great to visit almost all year
round. There are two primary seasons, which do not differ greatly. The change in daylight hours
is minimal, as are the temperature fluctuations between summer and winter. Winters are generally
warm but pleasant, with some tropical rainfalls refreshing the air due to the southwest monsoon,
however, the temperatures may become excessively intense and uncomfortable in many areas
during the summer season.

Fun facts
- Tonle Sap Lake is a wonderful place. In recent years it has been included in the list of UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, protected for their importance for animals and humans alike. The lake does a unique thing twice a year: the water flow changes direction and either fills or drains the lake. Making the lake the largest lake in Southeast Asia, or just another fairly medium-sized one. The flow of water has wonderful outcomes for the wildlife in the area as well as for settlements, tourism, and more
- Cambodia has had a number of names. In fact, it has changed its name with each new government, adopting the names of the Khmer Republic, Democratic Kampuchea, and the People's Republic of Kampuchea. Today, under the rule of Hun Sen, it is referred to as the Kingdom of Cambodia
- Cambodia is dotted with temples. 4000 discovered to be exact. While that may seem like an incredible number, you might be surprised to learn that there are even more hidden temples that have yet to be documented. The largest of the 4,000 documented temples is Angkor Wat, the country's most popular temple. It consists of ancient tombs, pagodas, bridges, and more ruins within its walls
