General weather Overview
A tropical climate prevails in the Philippines, as it does in other
equatorial countries. The country is divided into two major seasons. Rainy and dry periods are
similar in temperature, with both ranging from warm to hot, therefore there is not much
difference between the seasons other than precipitation and humidity. The change in daylight
hours is minimal, as are the temperature fluctuations between summer and winter. Typhoons have
a big impact on the temperature and weather, and the highlands are normally cooler compared to
other areas.
