General weather Overview
Barbados has a tropical climate. The temperatures are quite
consistent throughout the year, with little variation between seasons. The change in daylight
hours is almost unnoticeable, as are the temperature fluctuations between summer and winter. It
is supposed to be scorching even in the winter months.
Cooler temperatures, whether caused by a storm or rain, never linger long and are frequently
followed by direct sunlight.

Fun facts
- Barbados is often referred to as the birthplace of rum. It's even home to the world's oldest rum producer, Mount Gay Distilleries, who have been making this popular drink since 1703
- The grapefruit is believed to have originated in Barbados as a result of natural cross-pollination
- Unlike many of the nearby volcanic islands, Barbados is mostly flat and lacks volcanic activity of its own. The island consisted mainly of coral limestone
