Cyprus has a subtropical climate, which means it is typically warm and dry. The intensity of rain is only somewhat higher during a few humid months of winter. The typical daily temperature varies depending on the season, ranging from mildly moderate to scorching hot. During the winter months, and depending on the location, the temperature drops to cold, but not below freezing. Summers by the seaside are lengthy, hot, and slightly humid, but with consistent breezes. Rain periods never last long around the coastlines in general.
