A tropical climate prevails in Vietnam, as it does in most other
equatorial regions. During some months of the year, it may be extremely hot and humid, as well
as chilly in the north of the country during the winter. In addition, there are significant climatic
variances between the north and south of the region. The north has cool, foggy winters, while the
south experiences hot, humid weather throughout the year

- Snake wine is an alcoholic beverage made by soaking whole snakes and herbs in rice wine for a long time to intensify the flavor. It is a remedy in traditional Vietnamese medicine, where such species are said to have therapeutic and invigorating substances that can help heal back pain and rheumatism
- It is estimated that Vietnam has more than 5,800 small and large islands. Many of these islands lie in Halong Bay and off the coast of central Vietnam
- The traditional clothing of Vietnamese women is called "ao dai". It is a flowing four or five-panel tunic with two equal coils that tie at the front. These garments vary in style depending on the region of the country
