General weather Overview
Due to the small influence of the sea, it is warm here in summer
and cold in winter. Norway, which stretches 1750 km in a north-south direction, overlaps several
climatic zones. In the northeast, average annual temperatures are usually below freezing.
Winters in this subpolar region are snowy, long, and cold. The west coast, on the other hand, has
a much warmer climate due to the warmer North Atlantic Current. Here, the average summer is
quite warm, but there is a lot of rain in the fall. The southeastern interior of the Scandinavian
Mountains is more continental in character and has much less precipitation.
